Privacy and sharing.

This page explains the current card service. Please avoid putting sensitive personal information in a nickname, wish or signature.

Card details and browser access

The service stores the details you enter to create your card, together with its order, payment status and expiry. A first-party session cookie lets the same browser reopen its orders through My wishes. The cookie expires 90 days after it is first created and is not refreshed by later orders. Clearing it or letting it expire removes access from that browser, even if a newer card has not yet expired.

Cards remain accessible for up to 90 days. Download the PNG if you want to keep your card after that period. When a new order is created, the service removes expired orders that have no payment attempt. Records connected to a payment attempt can remain for payment reconciliation, and backups have separate retention. Card expiry does not mean every related record has been deleted.

Sharing is your choice

Sharing is off by default. If you create a share link, anyone with that link can read the card and pass the link on. You can turn sharing off from your card. Order and share pages tell search engines not to index them; this does not make a link confidential once you send it.

Hosting, payment and measurement

Cloudflare hosts the site and stores service data. Public page visits are measured with cookie-free Cloudflare Web Analytics; private order and share documents are excluded from that beacon. Share-page visits are counted by day and edition without storing the visitor’s card contents in those counters. Card-creation and active-sharing totals can be calculated from order records. PNG downloads are not tracked.

Paid editions use PayPal checkout. PayPal handles your payment information under its own privacy terms. The card service keeps payment identifiers and status to verify and reconcile the order, rather than collecting payment card details in the card form.

Questions about your data

Contact support with a description of your request. Do not email payment passwords or other sensitive credentials. We may need information that identifies the relevant order before we can help.
